AlumetAlumet (www.alumet.co.uk), who last month collected the Building award for ‘Specialist Contractor of the Year’, will install rainscreen panelling onto Structural Systems' SFS to provide an attractive, striking, modern appearance to the West Bromwich skyline.

The college will be prominent for miles around, being clearly visible from the M5.  Expected to be completed by September 2011, the college will accommodate up to 10,000 full and part-time students making it one of the largest further education providers in the West Midlands.

Currently there are three main campuses in Oldbury, Smethwick and West Bromwich, the new build will create a single, new campus in West Bromwich.  Sandwell College was just one of 13 buildings shortlisted from around 200 by the Learning and Skills Council to receive capital funding.

Once completed it shall provide specialist vocational facilities including; beauty and hairdressing salons, fashion and photography studios, construction workshops, engineering laboratories, ICT suites, restaurant kitchens, automotive centre, sports hall and performance rehearsal venues.
