Congratulations to Dan Sims, Award Winning Apprentice

Structural Systems are exceptionally proud to announce that Dan Sims has successfully completed his apprenticeship in Engineering & Manufacturing and has been awarded the prestigious ‘Achievement Award - Apprentice'.

The award was presented by Avon Vale Training, a leading provider of engineering training and apprenticeships. It recognises Dan's exceptional achievement during the apprenticeship with him being rated among the highest calibre apprentices in the South West.

An employee since September 2007, Dan is based at our Brislington works and has proved to be a fine welder and fabricator of structural steel. His written work is highly accomplished and he has demonstrated a real attention to detail. His enthusiasm and dedication has meant that he has driven his own learning all year. He has been given ever greater responsibility, as his potential of being a talented engineer is now being realised. Dan has a promising career ahead of him.

The awards ceremony coincided with Avon Vale's 40th Anniversary of delivering first class engineering training to industry. The South West's leading business figures and engineering employers plus industry bodies and politicians were in attendance and the awards were hosted by BBC Points West Presenter, Sally Challoner.

Everyone at Structural Systems would also like to congratulate Dan on becoming a dad for the first time. Liam David James Sims was born on the 18th May 2009 weighing 7lb 1oz, congratulations Dan!
